October is shaping up to be an exciting month of theatre, as three incredible shows produced and/or promoted by Hip Hop Pop's director Jen, hit stages locally. From a hilarious and heartfelt one-woman comedy-drama to a dance-out-your-seat tribute to Bruno Mars, and finally, an all-new street dance theatre extravaganza—there’s something for everyone! Here’s what’s coming up:


1. Priscilla Queen of the Disaster

A One-Woman Comedy-Drama


Priscilla Queen Of The Disaster - Harlow

Date: October 4th

Venue: Harlow Playhouse

Age 14+ only


Kick off October with some laughter and heartwarming moments at Priscilla Queen of the Disaster, a one-woman show written and performed by the incredibly talented individual and Hip Hop Pop member Susie Corcoran. This comedy-drama dives into the rollercoaster of the early years of motherhood with humor and grace, promising to make you laugh and cry—sometimes at the same time!


After a successful three-year tour, Susie is bringing the show full circle, closing where it all began at Harlow Playhouse. Suitable for ages 14+, it’s the perfect “mum’s night out” or evening with friends, where you’ll be treated to relatable and hilarious insights into motherhood. If you’ve yet to experience Susie’s sharp wit and heartfelt storytelling, this is your chance!



 

2. 24K BRUNO

The Ultimate Tribute to Bruno Mars

Also on October 4th, if you’re more in the mood for music and dancing, look no further than 24K BRUNO, a fantastic tribute show to Bruno Mars. Featuring Andrés Cruz, as seen on The Voice UK, and some of the Hip Hop Pop dance team, this high-energy production is perfect for the whole family.


Get ready to dance along to smash hits like “Uptown Funk,” “Marry You,” “Locked Out of Heaven,” and many more! Whether you’re a die-hard Bruno Mars fan or just love a good night of feel-good music, this show will have you on your feet. Don’t miss this exciting event at Hertford Theatre.



 

3. Shadows

A Brand New Street Dance Theatre Show

Date: October 19th & 20th

Venue: Harlow Playhouse


Later in the month, Hip Hop Pop is set to debut its biggest production of the year, Shadows, a brand-new street dance theatre piece that you won’t want to miss. This powerful show dives into the hidden struggles we often face but rarely talk about. Through a mix of high-energy dance, beats, and storytelling, Shadows brings these inner battles to life while showcasing the strength that can be found in community and music.


Featuring over 100 dancers from various age groups, Shadows blends multiple dance styles—hip hop, house, lyrical, and more—with captivating spoken word performances. Suitable for the whole family, it’s a performance that will leave audiences mesmerised and moved. With two shows on October 19th and 20th at Harlow Playhouse, make sure to grab your tickets early for this unforgettable experience.
